Blessings from my trip home
- I got the spend the holidays with my family
- I was able to sleep more than 6 hours a night
- I was able to decompress
- All these factors finally allowed me to kick the cold I've been fighting since Thanksgiving
- I was able to celebrate Little Molly's 21st Birthday with her!
Highlights from my New Years in Texas
- The guy at the car rental place told me that "near sighted, left-handed people are the most intelligent people there are.
- My rental was upgraded to a Mustang!
- I think the guy was hitting on me? Which is impossible. I looked like I'd been cooped up on a plane all day. No makeup, no contacts.
- I found a Bikram yoga studio
- I found a Groupon for that studio
- I crammed 5 glorious, sweaty classes into my vacation
- Running the New Years Eve 1/2 Marathon with a time that is pretty good for me: 2:26:43
- Getting to try some Holy Kombucha- a local brew from Fort Worth, TX. It was really good! Fizzy and light!
- New Years Eve dinner of Indian takeout food! I hate that I can get Indian food easily in Charlotte.
- Being strong enough to make the decision to Not Finish the New Years Day Marathon. I've never not finished a race I've started but running in the cold, freezing rain, with waterlogged shoes was not good for me. I'm really bummer I didn't finish, but it was the best decision for me, and I will try again!
Resolutions
- Delete the facebook app off my phone and spend less time distracted by social media.
- Focus on doing well at work and securing a job as a Habitat Site Supervisor.
- Keep working on my goals
